The moment this book hit my kindle, I immediately sensed an explosive story unfolding. MARTIAL LAW is by far the best in the series. With each book in the series, the action is more intense , the survival is more urgent and the characters are more prepared. The beginning starts off with a bang and never lets up. What happens when the power goes out everywhere? Are you prepared? The Loyal Nine have been prepared for this and the team is closing the gap in their tight knit group. All around them is panic and mayhem. The team is strong and with a sense of calmness, they put their plan of survival into place. This third installment in this series has everything you would expect from a fast paced thriller. Bobby Akart has become a best selling author to be reckoned with. He pulls no punches, is straight forward and delivers a story that gave me shivers as I envisioned myself in the midst of the crowd fighting for supplies. I love the author's knowledge of guns, technology and law . He is the master of history and is very detailed in that area. It shows in the intelligent writing throughout the book. I loved the references to easily identifiable things like CVS where people were fighting to get their medication. It really hits home and makes readers hopefully start to think about the future . The book is authentic and will have you thinking about your preparedness if this would happen in your town or state. Just don't know where to begin! This is the 3rd book in the series and WOW does it take off fast and keep moving till the end (which leaves us anxiously awaiting the next installment). Each one draws you deeper into the characters and with the attention to detail and real world scenarios, you can't help but to read it quickly !! Whether you are a prepper or not, if you are a fan of post apocalyptic novels, you MUST start this series along with all other novels written by Bobby Akart.
I noticed that another reviewer made the claim that this is Bobby Akart's best book. I agree, but don't sing his praises just yet. There is more to come as each volume gets better and better. His previous two books are filled with matters that are not only ripped from today's headlines, as the saying goes, but matters that happened after the books were released for publication. A little scary, huh? I want to know where Bobby is hiding that crystal ball. As predictions go I'm hopeful that Martial Law doesn't become tomorrow's headlines, just yet. I'm not fully prepared and have much to do. Bobby Akart has spent his time and put forth much effort to inform us of preparedness methods that are an easy thing to follow. Taking full advantage of Bobby's knowledge of how to prepare is in my plans for tomorrow.
Don't be fooled into thinking that Mr. Akart only writes books of instruction. From the opening scene at 73 Tremont--Boston, Massachusetts, (John Morgan's headquarters,) you will find Martial Law packed with non-stop, heart-pounding action as TEOTWAWKI takes America by surprise.
As the master puppeteer pulls his strings we watch with growing fascination as he manipulates the strings of humanity. But wait! Has the master overlooked a tidbit of data? An important bit of happenstance that could turn John Morgan's world into his own tragedy has slipped his mind. His only child, his legacy, his daughter, Senator Abigail Morgan is out of pocket when the lights go out. As a man of perfectionism one would think John Morgan would have all bases covered and all ducks in a row before pulling the final plug. But we see John almost panic when he realizes his daughter is on the campaign somewhere in Florida.
Abbie, along with her staff and body guards ar at a Jimmy Buffet show where Abbie has been invited to speak to a more libertarian audience. Abbie's ever faithful personal bodyguard, Drew Jackson, is by her side when the power shuts down leaving the arenas in darkness as chaos descends. Receiving instructions from Morgan to take Abbie to a certain location, Drew Is tasked with the job of getting her there safely. Will John Morgan, by using his powers be able to rectify his mistake by reaching his daughter before the hurricane makes landfall in Florida? (Yes, there is a hurricane brewing off the coast of Florida.) Since discovering his error John's goal is to pick up Abbie, at Camp Harding, then make their way back to their established safe haven on Prescott Peninsula, but there are a lot of miles and many dangers between Florida and Boston,
In the meantime, in Boston, Sarge and Julia are following protocol set forth by Morgan's plan of gathering Morgan's closest and most loyal friends at the Beacon Street complex until they can be safely transported to Prescott Peninsula. But not everyone is where they are supposed to be. How will Sarge and Julia find the Brahmin in a city that is falling to outbreaks of rioting and looting. The streets of Boston have become a war zone. Adding to all the problems that Sarge is faced with his brother, Steve and Steve's girlfriend, Katy, are in Washington DC and haven't checked in.
It's a ride a minute as the participants try to make things come together. What are all these unplanned for problems going to lead to and will everyone make it safely to Prescott Peninsula? With the President safely tucked away in Hawaii what is he going to do from his Western Whitehouse? Will he follow the detailed agreement for procedure to carry out the plan or will he choose his own reset button?
This is another well written book with undertones of teaching preparedness. Everyone will benefit from reading this book. Job well done, Bobby Akart.
As always, happy reading, but take this seriously.

We follow the Loyal Nine as they make their way to Boston through the breakdown of society that occurs within the first four days after the blackout began. We see them start to question the role The Boston Brahmin is playing in the events as they unfold.
The setting is two months before the presidential election. With the USA in chaos will the sitting president rise to the occasion or will others take this opportunity to decide America’s fate? The situation is all too real in the realm of possibilities based on what is currently happening in the world today.
I am chomping at the bit for the next book in this series.
